DJ Metrognome - Soul Supreme Volume II

Dam Funk - Speak The Truth

Illa J - Affair

Since his brother, James "J Dilla" Yancey's untimely passing in 2006, his younger brother Illa J has set about preserving his brother's legacy through music. After dropping Yancey Boys, a collaboration project featuring tracks from his late, great brother's treasure trove of beats and a few singles here and there, young Yancey is poised to step from out of his brother's shadow with his upcoming EP, 4 Past Midnite. Due out on Ne'astra Music Group, the EP's first single, "Affair" just hit the 'net. Produced by Young RJ, the smoothed out number features Illa J waxing poetic about the downside of being in a long distance relationship. Download "Affair" and see for yourself if musical greatness runs in the Yancey family.

Frankie Valli - Beggin'

Chadlee - Starrs Forever

I was completely blown away by this treat from producer Chadlee of Outbox Records, in the form of Starrs Forever, an EP celebrating the R&B group's legacy. Crafted with snippets of Atlantic Starr vocals, the nine-track instrumental collection brings back some great memories. Download 'Starrs Forever' by Chadlee here.

Nikko Gray - Beautiful You Are

This song makes me think of my loved ones. The track is a perfect example of what Nikko is best known for, beautifully delicate, mid-tempo soul grooves. Download 'Beautiful You Are' by the talented Nikko Gray here.

Jermaine - The Crazy 88

Vikter Duplaix - Morning Fun feat Common

There's no better way to start your day off than with a little somethin' somethin'. Or make that a little "Morning Fun," the sensuous new single from Vikter Duplaix featuring Common. We got a sample of this joint on the For Players Only mixtape a few weeks ago, but now we get to slip and slide into the full-length track. The electronic groove begins as Vikter wakes up to see that his lady is dressed and ready for work, but he has another kind of putting in work on his mind. Whispering and cooing that he has some unfinished business from the night before that needs to be handled, he delivers a convincing argument for her to come back to bed. Common adds an extra coating of sexy with his verses spread out throughout the track. I'll take waking up to this instead of a loud-ass alarm any day.

Alicia Keys - Speechless feat Eve

Swizz Beatz posted up his latest Monster Monday creation and this one was the best yet. Featuring his wife Alicia Keys on the mic, "Speechless" is her ode to their newborn son, Egypt. It's a beautiful love song, and she enlists the rapping talents of Eve once again who chimes in later on the track and shows all rapping Barbie knock-offs to their seats. Take a look at this behind-the-scenes featurette of the making of the song. Hearing this actually makes me excited to get a new album and more music from Keys this year. Peep the video below and listen/download the song after the bounce if you're on the late bus, too.

Download this beautiful track here.

Erykah Badu - Out My Mind, Just in Time (DJ Kiva Remix)

Erykah Badu's "Out My Mind, Just In Time" was definitely one of the many highlights of New Amerykah Part 2: Return of The Ankh. Brooklyn-based pruducer DJ Kiva has flipped the track into what he likes to call Stuttastep: "A form of music derived from a formula of afro-cuban time signatures, broken beats, dubwise production, [and] heavyweight bass". Whatever the musical style, I'm liking this alot. Even better, the track is available for free here.

Thanks to Soulbounce.

Freddie Joachim - Quick
